the beach scene

this deck chair was created using different size rectangles , they then had a wood bitmap added to them. the material piece was a little harder to make, as it had a sloop in the middle. it had to be changed into an editable poly, so the middle could be pulled down. a turbo smooth modifier was used to make it look more shaped, and usable.

the beach hut below was down using blocks, and simply cloning them. the material that was added to them was down using a bump material, as done in class. the only thing left to finish on this is the roof, as this needs the same mixture of colours. this should however be done in next weeks class (as this topic will be covered then).

Materials

Materials have been applied to the objects in the scene. A bump effect has been added to them, one with a marble effect, and one with a noise. the others were just experiments so had materials applied to them. Lighting was applied, also a camera was added in the second picture. The materials, lighting and camera was all successful, and will be considered to use in the project.

shadows

To start with, a raytrace shadow was used to show the finer edges of the shapes in the scene. this was done by adding an omni light in, and modifiy box ticking the shadows on and putting a raytrace shadow in.

To create a more fuller light in the scene, 2 omni loghts were put in the scene. in the atmospheres and effects a lens effect was added to the scene in the setup it is possible to change the type of light produced. in this case a star and ray light was added. a further light was added to the scene and this was a target light, in the same way as i created the other lights, i added a volume light to this, with a fire effect.

without the cube in this scene it is possible to see how a glow from the inside of a ring can look, and the effect the lighting can give to the scene. this is something to think about for the project.

inside house animation

The inside of the house was created to practise using cameras and lighting. the lighting used in this room was a couple of omni lights, and a target camera, that was put on a path to go round the room.

follwing the line

The first of the two exercise was to get the ball bouncing, by simply creating key frames along the time line at the bottom. the first of which with the ball on the ground, and the second with the ball in the air. the frames where then copied and pasted along the line.

The second exercise was to get the ball folling a line. this was done by creating a line, going into animation - constraints - path constraints (it is important to make sure the target object is choosen first). Then a dotted line comes up, connect this line to the line/path for the object. click play and it should follow the line!!

Cromer Picture board

While i was at cromer i took a number of pictures, all of which i included on this board. i also gathered a number of postcards, and have taken pictures from the internet.

The second picture board i created was of the lighthouse, which is going to be the centre point of the animation.

ideas

After taking a visit to cromer, in north norfolk, i found that there was quite a nice looking lighthouse there. so i have decided to use this as the centre of the animation.
After starting the basic animation in last weeks class, i was able to see, how i could make the light on top of the light house go round on the different aspects of the seaside scene.
So, at preasent i have a basic, rough idea but nothing solid. the main draw back that i can see at the moment, is that it is going to involve a lot of modelling.

The apple

The apple task was completed successfully, although there is room for improvement, as with everything. In a future project i would take more time to look at the shape of the object i am modeling. Possibly have it there if possible when i am modeling.
